Optometry is a specialized healthcare profession that involves examining the eyes and associated structures for detection/diagnosis and management of disease in the eye, and the rehabilitation of conditions of the visual system. Specialists of this profession are called Optometrists. Those with specialised clinical trainings are called doctors of Optometry or Optometric Clinicians.
